First time blogger ( this is my journal)

So as you can see this isn't really my blog...well it is, but its more of a journal then a 'blog' per-se. In my mind a blog is more something someone can come and comment on and share their thoughts... well this is not that. It more 'close minded,' its just my thoughts that you can comment on if you wish but i didn't really make this with the thought sharing it with others in mind. So, it is what it is.

Today I attended my singles branch albeit I only made it for the end of the priesthood lesson, i made it. After this lesson was Sunday School, Gospel Doctrine class. The lesson focused on Meshach, Shadrach and Abed-nego. Good lesson, focused mostly on having the faith and courage to stand up for what you believe in (in my case Jesus Christ and his Gospel) even in the face of death (at least thats the ultimate point I drew from it) the three Israelites were not ashamed to tell king Nebuchadnezzar they had no as they so eloquently and evocatively stated "O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not acareful to answer thee in this matter.

17If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to adeliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

18But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not aserve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up."

what an amazing knowledge of 'who they are' as sons of the most high god. What amazing faith they possessed" the words "we are not careful to answer thee in this O king" stick out poignantly in my mind. They are careful to make make sure and make it known that they do not want to offend their god and they will not placate the king by using feeble words, that would show lack of commitment or faith in God. Also their expression of absoluteness and also faith "but if not", be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up." These men are great men of faith whom i admire greatly for their ardor and dedication to our God! One interesting point Bro Monk brought up was phrase with this question he posed " what voice do we follow" we all can speculate on why King Nebuchadnezzar chose these individuals to have any power in his kingdom whatsoever. If you examine their them they are men of god, men who "follow the master's voice" "his spirit" however you want to phrase it they were relying on his guidance and counsel. A lesson I am grateful to have learned from their examples.
